Gelato Festival World Masters 2021 to Be Launched in Firenze on 20th April

From 20th to 22nd April 2018, Piazzale Michelangelo, Florence’s iconic square, will be the venue of the 9th Gelato Festival, the first leg of the Gelato Festival World Masters 2021.

From Friday, for three days, the capital of Renaissance will become the capital of quality purely Italian-style ice-cream, better known by its indigenous name, gelato. Three large food trucks will offer tastings as well as gelato-themed activities and workshops.

A collaboration between Carpigiani and Sigep Italian Echibition Group, the Gelato Festival will continue to Roma, Torino and Milano, before crossing the national borders for the subsequent European leg, with Berlin, Warsaw, London and Vienna, and the American tour.

The festival made its debut in Firenze in 2010, upon the rediscovery of an ancient gelato recipe penned by famed architect Bernardo Buontalenti in 1559. The Gelato Festival has expanded outside the city, national and continental borders over the year, reaching the United States.
